The bill declares English the official language of the United States and repeals provisions of the Bilingual Voting Rights Act that required states with large concentrations of non-English-speaking

The legislation would negatively impact the provision of services to Americans with limited English proficiency and disenfranchise millions of Americans now making use of bilingual ballots. Similar legislation has been introduced in the Senate and may come to a vote when Senators return from their recess this September. Please contact your Senators while they are on recess and urge them to vote against any form of the English Only bill. The Senate switchboard number is (202) 225-3121.
