Buy American: The League of United Latin American Citizens encourages the 45 million Latinos living in the United States and Puerto Rico to use their $700 billion in purchasing power to buy American made products and services. 

Save Your Job: Opportunities for Latinos in the United States are dependent on the strength of the US economy which in turn is dependent on the strength of US companies based here. We simply cannot sustain our record trade deficit which is expected to exceed $700 billion this year. Many of our American companies are struggling financially and Latinos need to support them now or suffer the inevitable loss of good paying jobs in the future. 

Support those Companies that Support Latinos: In addition, companies based in the United States have been far better corporate citizens—hiring more Latinos, giving back to Latino communities, and doing business with Latino small businesses—than their foreign competitors. Latinos need to purchase the products and services of those companies that support our communities and stop buying the products and services of companies that don’t. 

Keep America Rolling: In particular the American automobile industry is facing tremendous pressure from rising health care costs and fierce foreign competition. GM, Ford and Chrysler together employ 90% of the autoworkers in America and make 75% of the cars and trucks that are made in the US. Fully 9% of the U.S. gross domestic product is generated by the automobile industry, impacting the livelihoods of millions of Americans. LULAC calls on all U.S. Latinos to only buy American made cars and trucks.
