LULAC Immigration & Citizenship Project

The LULAC Immigration & Citizenship Project assists individuals applying for United States citizenship to complete their applications and to place them in citizenship classes and other support services. The program utilizes a toll free number for interested individuals to call for counseling, advice and referral. The program works closely with community-based organizations and LULAC Councils to provide outreach to the immigrant community and set up citizenship and English classes.

The program targets immigrants throughout the United States who are eligible for citizenship, or who have questions about their immigration status. Participants receive counseling, advice, and referrals for immigration and naturalization related services. The program has proven effective at increasing citizenship attainment rate of eligible immigrants serviced. With recent changes to national immigration laws, citizenship is now more vital than ever for immigrants to fully participate in the American dream.

Many LULAC Councils provide assistants to immigrants at the local level
